This treatment helps treat and relieve thrush infections, which are caused by an overgrowth of the fungus Candida. Thrush can affect the mouth (oral thrush), vagina (vaginal thrush), or skin folds, causing discomfort such as itching, soreness, redness, or white patches. Treatment depends on the type of thrush:
  • Oral thrush: antifungal lozenges, gels, or tablets are taken or applied as directed, usually for several days.
  • Vaginal thrush: antifungal creams or pessaries are inserted as instructed, typically for 3–7 days.
  • Skin/mucosal thrush: topical creams or ointments are applied directly to affected areas once or twice daily.
