What is Canesten Combi?
Canesten Combi is a combined thrush treatment that includes an internal vaginal cream and an external soothing cream. It is used to treat vaginal thrush and relieve both internal and external symptoms.
It works by stopping the growth of the yeast that causes the infection.
It can help with:
- Itching and irritation
- Soreness and redness
- Unusual vaginal discharge
The internal cream treats the infection, while the external cream helps relieve symptoms on the outside of the vagina.
Active ingredient: Clotrimazole
Who is Canesten Combi suitable for?
Canesten Combi is suitable for:
- Adults aged 16 to 60 years with symptoms of vaginal thrush
Do not use and seek advice first if you:
- Are under 16 or over 60 years old
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are allergic to clotrimazole or similar antifungal medicines
- Have unusual symptoms such as irregular bleeding, sores, or strong-smelling discharge
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist if:
- This is your first episode of thrush
- You have frequent infections
- Symptoms do not improve
How to use Canesten Combi
Always use Canesten Combi as directed in the leaflet or by your pharmacist.
Typical use:
- Insert the internal cream into the vagina using the applicator, usually as a single dose at night
- Apply the external cream thinly to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily
Continue using the external cream until symptoms have settled.
Wash your hands before and after use.
Avoid using tampons, douches, or spermicides during treatment.
How to store Canesten Combi
Store the treatment:
- Below 25°C
- In the original packaging
- Away from heat and moisture
- Out of the sight and reach of children
Do not use after the expiry date.
