Canesten 2% Thrush Cream is an antifungal treatment used to relieve the external symptoms of vaginal thrush (candidiasis). It contains clotrimazole, which works by stopping the growth of the yeast that causes the infection.
This cream is applied to the outside of the vaginal area to soothe irritation while helping treat the infection.

This medicine is available without a prescription.
Canesten 2% Cream is suitable for:
- Adults aged 16 to 60 years experiencing symptoms of vaginal thrush
- Women who want relief from external symptoms such as itching or soreness
Canesten 2% Cream shouldn't be used by:
- Women under 16 or over 60 without medical advice
- Anyone allergic to clotrimazole or other antifungal medicines
- Those who are experiencing thrush symptoms for the first time without medical advice
How to use Canesten Cream
Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Typical use:
- Wash your hands before and after applying the cream
- Apply a thin layer to the affected external area
- Use 2 to 3 times daily
- Gently rub the cream into the skin until absorbed
Continue using the cream until symptoms improve.
Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. Do not swallow the cream.
How to store Canesten
- Store below 25°C
- Keep the cream in the original packaging
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging
