What is Difflam Throat & Mouth Spray?
Difflam Throat & Mouth Spray contains benzydamine hydrochloride, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID). It works by relieving pain and reducing inflammation in the mouth and throat.
It can be used for:
- Mouth ulcers
- Sore throat
- Pain in the tongue or gums
- Discomfort from dentures or dental work

How to use
Adults
- 4 to 8 puffs every 1 to 3 hours as needed
Children aged 6 to 12 years
- 4 puffs every 1 to 3 hours
How to apply
- Shake the bottle gently and remove the cap.
- Raise the spray tube into position.
- Aim directly at the sore area in your mouth or throat.
- Spray the required number of puffs.
Avoid swallowing large amounts.
After use
- Wipe the spray tube with a tissue
- Push the spray tube back down after use
- Do not insert objects into the nozzle if blocked
Always follow the instructions on the label.
How to store
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children
- Store below 25°C
- Replace the cap after use
- Do not use after the expiry date
Side effects
Common side effects may include:
- Numbness or tingling in the throat
- Stinging or burning sensation in the mouth
These are usually mild and settle quickly.
Stop using and seek medical help if you develop signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
