What is Difflam Throat & Mouth Spray?
Difflam Throat & Mouth Spray contains benzydamine hydrochloride, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID). It works by relieving pain and reducing inflammation in the mouth and throat.
It can be used for:
- Mouth ulcers
- Sore throat
- Pain in the tongue or gums
- Discomfort from dentures or dental work

Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for:
- Adults
- Children aged 6 years and over
Not recommended for:
- People allergic to benzydamine or other NSAIDs
- Children under 6 years
- People with severe kidney, liver, or heart problems without medical advice
- Those with mouth infections or open wounds that require medical attention
If symptoms are severe, persistent, or accompanied by fever, seek medical advice.
Who should not use it / Warnings
Do not use if:
- You are allergic to benzydamine or any ingredients
- You have previously reacted to similar anti-inflammatory medicines
Speak to a pharmacist or doctor before use if:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Symptoms last more than a few days
- You experience worsening pain or swelling
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
How to use
Adults
- 4 to 8 puffs every 1 to 3 hours as needed
Children aged 6 to 12 years
- 4 puffs every 1 to 3 hours
How to apply
- Shake the bottle gently and remove the cap.
- Raise the spray tube into position.
- Aim directly at the sore area in your mouth or throat.
- Spray the required number of puffs.
Avoid swallowing large amounts.
After use
- Wipe the spray tube with a tissue
- Push the spray tube back down after use
- Do not insert objects into the nozzle if blocked
Always follow the instructions on the label.
How to store
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children
- Store below 25°C
- Replace the cap after use
- Do not use after the expiry date
