What is Nytol One-A-Night?
Nytol One-A-Night is a medication used to treat temporary, short-term sleep disturbances. The active ingredient in Nytol One-A-Night is diphenhydramine, which is an antihistamine that causes drowsiness. Nytol One-A-Night contains 50mg of diphenhydramine.
Who is Nytol One-A-Night suitable for?
This medication is appropriate for adults and children over the age of 16 who are struggling with their sleep due to reasons such as:
- Stress
- Jet Lag
- Personal issues such as bereavement
Patients suffering from sleep disturbances of this nature are shown to fall asleep much faster and experience a longer and more fulfilling night’s sleep.
However, if your sleep does not improve, you must contact your GP to identify the underlying cause.
How to take Nytol
You should always take Nytol as advised by your GP or pharmacist, and always refer to the patient information leaflet.
Adults and children aged 16+:
Swallow ONE tablet with water 20 minutes before bedtime.
Nytol can be taken with or without food.
- Do not take more than the recommended dose
- Do not take extra tablets if you wake up in the middle of the night
- Only take Nytol if you know you do not need to be fully alert for the next 8 hours (i.e you do not have to drive or operate machinery)
- Avoid alcohol and other sedatives while taking Nytol
This medication is not suitable for patients suffering with confusion or dementia.
How to store Nytol One-A-Night
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Keep below 25°C
- Keep in the original packaging
- Keep out of sight and reach of children
- Do not use after the expiry date on the packaging
