What is Woodward’s Gripe Water?
Woodward’s Gripe Water is an oral liquid used to help relieve distress associated with wind and mild digestive discomfort in babies. It contains dill seed oil, which helps with trapped wind, and sodium bicarbonate, which helps neutralise stomach acid.
Who is Woodward’s Gripe Water suitable for?
Woodward’s Gripe Water is suitable for babies from 1 month to 12 months.
Use exactly as directed on the packaging or by your pharmacist.
Typical dose
Babies aged 1 to 6 months
- Give 5ml during or after feeds
- Up to 6 doses in 24 hours
Babies aged 6 to 12 months
- Give 10 ml during or after feeds
- Up to 6 doses in 24 hours
Give the dose slowly into the side of the mouth. Keep your baby upright during and after giving the dose.
If symptoms do not improve, seek advice from a GP or health visitor.
How to store Woodward’s Gripe Water
- Store below 25°C
- Keep the bottle tightly closed
- Keep out of sight and reach of children
- Use within 14 days of opening
- Do not use after the expiry date
