What is Strep A
Strep A also known as Streptococcus Pyogenes (group A strep) is a bacteria commonly found on the skin or in the throat and can sometimes cause an infection. These infections can vary in severity and can sometimes be very dangerous, so it's important to monitor the symptoms that can arise when dealing with the infection.
Symptoms of Strep A
The common symptoms experienced with a Strep A infection include:
- A rash that feels rough to the touch, like sandpaper, (scarlet fever)
- Impetigo, a form of sores and scabs often found around the mouth and nose
- Swelling, pain and discomfort
- Flu like symptoms including, increased temperature, generalized aches and pains and swollen glands

Simply take a sample with the throat swab provided, place it in with the provided solution before transferring it on to the test cassette, add a few drops of the sample solution to the cassette provided and wait up to 5 minutes to view your results.
