Introduction

Anusol offers an effective treatment for the relief of pain and irritation caused by piles and haemorrhoids .Anusol comes in various formulations to cater for your preference and to effectively soothe and relieve the symptoms of piles.

What is Piles?

Piles, otherwise known as haemorrhoids are lumps that are found on the inside and around your anus. Haemorrhoids develop when the veins in your lower anus and rectum become swollen, as a result, you may experience certain symptoms such as:

  • Bleeding after you defecate

  • Lumps in or around your anus

  • Pain or discomfort around the anus

  • Slimy discharge in your underwear or after wiping

  • Itchiness or soreness around your anus

  • A feeling of still needing the toilet after you have already gone.

If you have haemorrhoids, they normally get better on their own with good diet and lifestyle adaptations, however Anusol is available to  treat active irritation caused by piles.

What is Anusol cream used for?

Anusol cream helps to lessen the severity of internal and external piles. The cream contains astringent ingredients such as zinc oxide and bismuth oxide, both of which play an important role with healing piles. Zinc oxide and bismuth oxide both protect the irritated region around your anal area, while zinc oxide also lessens the swelling. Another ingredient is balsam peru which includes healing properties to protect the sore areas around your anus.Due to the antiseptic properties that these ingredients contain, they are able to kill or stop the increase of bacteria that may be further aggravating piles.

What is Anusol cream/ ointment used for?

Anusol ointment is comparable to the cream, but offers a different consistency and feel as the ointment offers more grease which can also help with dry skin.

Both products are for topical rectal use only therefore must be applied only to the affected area.

Apply the cream/ointment  to the affected area in the evening, morning and after each bowel movement. Before use, make sure to wash the anal area and lightly dry the area with a soft towel.

For internal piles:

Screw the nozzle onto the tube, remove the nozzle lid and insert the nozzle into the anus and squeeze lightly to the affected area.Take the nozzle out and clean the nozzle after each use. Make sure to wash your hands after use.

For external piles:

Apply the cream gently to the affected area and wash your hands after use.

Who can use this?

This is suitable for adults aged 18 and over.
