What is Anusol Soothing Relief Ointment?

Anusol Soothing Relief Ointment is a treatment used to relieve discomfort around the back passage caused by piles (haemorrhoids) and minor anal irritation.

It helps soothe itching, soreness, and irritation while protecting the affected area.

It can be used for:

  • Itching around the back passage
  • Soreness and irritation
  • Mild swelling from internal or external piles
  • Minor anal inflammation

Active ingredients may include:

  • Zinc oxide – helps protect and soothe the skin
  • Bismuth subgallate – has mild protective properties
  • Balsam Peru – supports healing

Who is it suitable for?

Not suitable for:

  • Children under 18
  • Anyone allergic to any of the ingredients

How to use

For adults only.

  • Wash and gently dry the anal area before applying.
  • Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area.

For external piles:

  • Gently rub a small amount onto the skin around the anus.

For internal piles:

  • Attach the nozzle to the tube.
  • Remove the cap and gently insert the nozzle into the back passage.
  • Squeeze a small amount inside.
  • Wash the nozzle after use.

Use up to 4 times daily:

  • In the morning
  • At night
  • After each bowel movement

Wash your hands before and after use.

Important information

  • Do not use for more than 7 days in a row unless advised by a doctor.
  • Do not use on broken skin unless advised.
  • If symptoms worsen or do not improve, seek medical advice.
  • If you experience rectal bleeding or persistent pain, speak to a doctor.

Side effects

Possible side effects include:

  • Mild burning or stinging
  • Itching or redness around the area

These are usually mild and short-lived.
