What is Anusol Ointment?

Anusol Ointment is a treatment that is applied to the skin around the back passage or gently inside it. It is used to treat both internal and external piles. It helps relieve itching, reduce inflammation, and soothe soreness in the affected area. It can also help protect the skin and support the healing of small tears around the anus.

Anusol Ointment may also be used after anorectal surgery to help calm and protect the area while it heals.

It can be used to treat:

  • Internal piles
  • External piles
  • Itching around the anus
  • Swelling and inflammation
  • Soreness and irritation
  • Support the healing of anal tears

Anusol Ointment can also be used to help with healing after anorectal surgery.

Active ingredients:

  • Zinc oxide – helps soothe and protect irritated skin
  • Bismuth subgallate – provides a protective coating and helps reduce irritation
  • Bismuth oxide – helps calm the area and support healing
  • Balsam Peru – has mild antiseptic properties and helps protect the skin

Who is Anusol Ointment suitable for?

Anusol Ointment is suitable for adults and the elderly suffering from symptoms of piles.

It is not recommended for children under 18 years old unless advised by a healthcare professional.

How to use Anusol Ointment

Apply the ointment in the morning and at night, and after each bowel movement.

For external piles:

  • Apply a small amount of ointment to the affected area around the anus.

For internal piles:

  • Remove the cap and attach the nozzle provided.
  • Gently insert the nozzle into the back passage and squeeze the tube lightly to apply a small amount of ointment inside.
  • Remove the nozzle carefully after use.

Wash your hands before and after applying the ointment.

How to store Anusol Ointment

  • Store below 25°C.
  • Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.
  • Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
