Athletes Foot and Ringworm


Athlete's foot and ringworm are fungal infections. The infection causing fungus thrive in wet moist areas as such it is essential precautionary measures are taken in order to avoid developing,spreading or exacerbating the infection. Crevices and areas prone to heat like between the toes should be kept clean and dry .Athlete's foot is a common fungal infection that occurs between the toes creating white patches of itchy skin. The skin may also appear red but on varying skin tones this may be less noticeable. If not treated this infection can spread and results in a fungal nail infection which may take a lot longer to treat.Ringworm unlike the name suggests is not caused by worms rather a fungal infection which creates red or silvery ring like rashes on the skin. It  can occur anywhere on the body or scalp and require treatment with antifungal medication, like athletes foot ringworm is also contagious and anyone infected should avoid sharing towels and other clothing, bedding should also be washed regularly to prevent further spread.



Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder


Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder contains Miconazole an antifungal and antibacterial  medication used in the treatment of fungal and bacterial infections on the skin and nails.Suitable for all ages this mediation comes in a powder format and is applied externally where required. The simple application of the spray powder will help ease the itchiness and irritation commonly associated with fungal infections.The active ingredient miconazole nitrate works by targeting the source of the infection without causing undue discomfort.


How to Apply Miconazole?


Whilst holding the can around 3 inches away from the affected area  spray the formula on to the skin. Apply twice daily to the infected area and surrounding skin. When applying the spray ensure the area has been cleaned and dried thoroughly using a towel, ensure that the towel is kept for personal use only so as to prevent further spread of the infection.


Side Effects


Like all medication there are side effects you may experience when taking miconazole some of which are as follows:

  • Skin rashes

  • Itchiness

  • Hives 

  • Swelling

  • Allergic reaction
