What is Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder?
Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder is an antifungal treatment used to treat and help prevent fungal skin infections. It kills the fungus causing the infection, relieves itching and redness, and helps keep the skin dry to reduce the chance of it coming back.
It can be used for:
- Athlete’s foot
- Red, itchy, cracked, or peeling skin caused by fungal infections
- Preventing fungal infections after swimming, sports, or excessive sweating
Active ingredient: Miconazole nitrate
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for:
- Adults
- Children aged 2 years and over
- People with mild fungal skin infections
- People prone to athlete’s foot or sweaty feet
Not suitable for:
- Children under 2 years
- Anyone allergic to miconazole or any ingredient
- Use on broken skin, eyes, mouth, or genital area
If pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to a pharmacist or doctor before use.
How to use
Before use:
- Wash the affected area and dry thoroughly
- Remove socks and ensure feet are fully dry
Application
- Shake the can well
- Hold about 8cm (3 inches) from the skin
- Spray onto:
- Between the toes
- Soles of the feet
- Any red, itchy, or peeling areas
Do not stop early, even if symptoms improve.
Tips to support treatment
- Wear clean cotton socks daily
- Keep feet dry, especially between toes
- Wear breathable shoes
- Do not share towels, socks, or shoes
- Wash socks and towels in hot water
- Wear flip-flops in public showers or swimming areas
Side effects
Most people use Daktarin without problems.
Possible side effects include:
- Mild irritation
- Redness
- Itching
- Burning sensation
Stop using and seek immediate medical help if you experience:
- Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat
- Severe rash
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
