The Timeline
Founded by pharmacist Omar El-Gohary, together with his wife, Suzanne, a practising GP, iQ Doctor was built on a simple idea: that modern healthcare
could be delivered more efficiently, transparently and more personally through digital technology; without compromising the human connection patients rely on.
Today, iQ Doctor is a growing clinical team dedicated to providing just that through a safe, regulated and patient-centred online healthcare platform. Yet, the journey began much more modestly.

The Beginning
iQ Doctor was founded in 2016, when Omar made the decision to take his experiences and skills as a Superintendent Pharmacist to industry leadership. Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years, he had clearly seen the enormous potential of digital healthcare, but, at the same time, its limitations.
- Large organisations had moved slowly
- Technology wasn't being fully utilised
- Patients often felt like they were navigating systems rather than receiving care
It was at the point of this shift that Omar and his wife recognised something powerful: together they represented the core of modern healthcare and where it should be: pharmacy and online medicine working side by side and so, iQ Doctor was born.
Launching iQ Doctor & Building Trust
In the early days, it was a small operation working from a modest office with a limited range of treatments. The goal was simple: start small, build trust and grow responsibly. Their initial services focused on commonly requested treatments such as; erectile dysfunction, hair loss and lifestyle medications. But even in those early stages, the ambition was much bigger. iQ Doctor wasn't simply about supplying treatments, it was about creating a modern, patient-first service.
The COVID Turning Point
Like many businesses, iQ Doctor faced enormous challenges when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived. But it also became a defining moment. As travel restrictions and testing requirements emerged, access to reliable testing became essential. iQ Doctor responded quickly, launching a COVID testing programme at a time when few providers could deliver results quickly and reliably.
Demand surged and what followed was an extraordinary period of growth. Working around the clock to meet demand, the team helped thousands of people obtain the tests they needed to travel, work and continue their lives during an incredibly difficult time. It was incredibly exhausting but also deeply rewarding. Not only was the business growing, it was making a real difference.

From Small Team to Growing Clinical Network Today, iQ Doctor operates with a full UK based clinical team, supporting patients across a wide range of services. Here, patients are never left alone with automated systems. Instead, they have access to:

Even though technology sits at the heart of iQ Doctor, support of patient care remains its core mission. The team made the decision a long time
ago to move away from off-the-shelf systems and develop a bespoke digital platform designed specifically for healthcare. This allowed the company to:
