Anbesol Teething Gel


Anbesol teething gel provides fast acting relief from teething, mouth ulcers and denture irritation. The presence of antiseptics within the formulation helps fight away infections whilst the anesthetic properties of the gel helps to numb pain.The sugar free formula can be used  by children, adults and the elderly making it a great option for the entire family. Anbesol is a excellent option particularly for teething children as it will help relieve some of the more prominent symptoms of aggravated gums such as flushed cheeks, excess drooling and sore and red gum. Suitable for children above the age of 5 months Anbesol is a great alternative where normal medicinal medication has failed to work. Anbesol contains 3 primary active ingredients that help soothe and relieve oral discomfort lidocaine hydrochloride is an anesthetic which helps to numb the feeling of pain in the affected area whilst the chlorocresol and cetylpyridinium work as antiseptics helping to kill bacteria reducing the chance of infection.


How to Apply Anbesol Teething Gel


When applying on a child use a pea sized amount of the gel and apply to the affected area using a clean finger tip. If further relief is required an additional dose can be administered after 3 hours. Anbesol should not be used more than 6 times within a 24 hour period and for more than 7 days at a time.

Side effects 


As with all medication there are possible side effects you can experience however these will differ from person to person, side effects include:

  • Allergic reaction

  • Mouth ulcers 

  • Dermatitis 

If you experience any side effects or an allergic reaction, stop the medication and seek medical attention.


Warnings


If you take any other medication prescription or otherwise inform your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding consult with your doctor or pharmacist for further advice before proceeding with treatment.If your child swallows or spits out the medication do not re-administer the dose until at least 3 hours later.If your symptoms recur often, do not settle or increase contact your doctor as anbesol should not be used for more than 7 days at a time.
