The Morning After Pill helps prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It works by delaying or preventing ovulation, giving you an emergency option to reduce the risk of pregnancy.
Take the pill as soon as possible after unprotected sex, ideally within 24 hours, though some products remain effective up to 72–120 hours depending on the type. Follow the instructions carefully, and take the tablet with water.
The Morning After Pill is generally safe. Some people may experience nausea, fatigue, headache, or changes in their next period. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and is intended for emergency use only, not as a regular contraceptive method. If vomiting occurs within two hours of taking the pill, contact your healthcare provider, as you may need to repeat the dose.
You will not get immediate confirmation. The pill is most effective when taken promptly, and your next period may be earlier or later than usual. If your period is more than a week late, take a pregnancy test to confirm results.
