What are Germoloids Suppositories?

Germoloids Suppositories are used to relieve the symptoms of internal haemorrhoids (piles) and itching inside the back passage.

They work directly inside the rectum, which makes them especially useful for internal piles where creams and ointments may not reach as effectively.

Germoloids Suppositories can help relieve:

  • Pain and soreness
  • Itching and irritation
  • Swelling and inflammation
  • Discomfort during and after bowel movements

Active ingredients:

  • Lidocaine – helps numb pain and itching
  • Zinc oxide – helps soothe and protect the affected area

Who are Germoloids Suppositories suitable for?

Germoloids Suppositories may be suitable for:

  • Adults
  • Children aged 12 years and over
  • People with internal piles
  • People with itching or irritation inside the back passage

They are not suitable for:

  • Children under 12 years
  • Anyone allergic to lidocaine, zinc oxide, or any of the other ingredients

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any other medicines.

How to use Germoloids Suppositories

Use exactly as directed on the pack or as advised by your pharmacist.

Typical use

  • Wash your hands before and after use
  • Gently clean and dry the area around the anus
  • Remove one suppository from the strip
  • Peel open the wrapper and take out the suppository
  • Insert the suppository gently into the anus, rounded end first
  • Try to remain lying down for a few minutes afterwards so it can settle properly

Dose

Adults and children aged 12 years and over:

  • Use one suppository in the morning, preferably after a bowel movement
  • Use one suppository at night before bed
  • If needed, you can also use them during the day, leaving at least 3 to 4 hours between doses
  • Do not use more than 4 suppositories in 24 hours

Missed dose

If you forget a dose, use it when you remember.

Do not use two suppositories at the same time to make up for a missed dose.

Important advice

  • For internal use only
  • Mild stinging or irritation may happen when first used and usually settles quickly
  • Do not use for more than 7 days unless advised by a doctor

Speak to a doctor if symptoms do not improve after 7 days, or if bleeding, pain, or swelling gets worse.

How to store

  • Store below 25°C
  • Keep the suppositories in the original packaging
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children
  • Do not use after the expiry date on the pack
