What are Anusol Plus HC Suppositories?

Anusol Plus HC Suppositories are used to treat the symptoms of internal piles (haemorrhoids) and inflammation inside the back passage. They are inserted into the rectum, where they melt and release ingredients that soothe irritation, reduce swelling, and relieve discomfort.

These suppositories contain hydrocortisone, a mild steroid that helps reduce inflammation and itching, along with soothing ingredients that protect and calm irritated tissue.

They can help with:

  • Internal piles (haemorrhoids)
  • Itching, soreness, and irritation in the back passage
  • Swelling and inflammation associated with piles
  • Discomfort during and after bowel movements

Active ingredients:

  • Hydrocortisone — reduces inflammation and itching
  • Zinc oxide — helps protect the skin and support healing
  • Bismuth compounds — provide soothing and mild antiseptic properties
  • Balsam Peru — helps support skin repair

How to use Anusol Plus HC Suppositories

Use exactly as directed on the label or as advised by your pharmacist.

Typical use:

  • Insert one suppository into the back passage in the morning and at night
  • You may also use one after each bowel movement if needed

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Wash your hands and ensure the area around the back passage is clean and dry
  • Remove the suppository from its wrapper
  • If necessary, moisten the suppository slightly with water to make insertion easier
  • Gently insert the suppository, pointed end first, into the rectum
  • Wash your hands after use

Important advice:

  • Try to insert the suppository after a bowel movement so it stays in place longer
  • The suppository will melt inside the body, this is normal
