What is Earex Advance Ear Drops 12ml?
Earex Advance is an ear drop solution used to soften and help remove built-up earwax. It is often used as a first step for blocked ears caused by excess wax.
It can help with:
- Reduced hearing from wax build-up
- A feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear
- Mild discomfort caused by hardened earwax
- Preparing the ear before professional wax removal such as irrigation or microsuction
Active ingredient: Urea hydrogen peroxide 5% which helps break down and loosen earwax.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for:
- Adults
- Older people
- Children
Do not use if you:
- Have a perforated or damaged eardrum
- Have an ear infection
- Have pain, swelling, discharge, or bleeding from the ear
- Have eczema, irritation, or skin problems in the ear canal
- Are allergic to any of the ingredients
If you are unsure, speak to a pharmacist before using.
How to use
To clear earwax
- Tilt your head to one side with the affected ear facing upwards.
- Gently squeeze 3 to 6 drops into the ear.
- Keep your head tilted for a few minutes so the drops can soak into the wax.
- After a few minutes, rinse gently with lukewarm water if advised on the pack.
- Wipe away any excess liquid from the outside of the ear only.
Use once or twice daily for 3 to 6 days. You should start to notice improvement during this time.
To help prevent build-up
- Use once weekly if you are prone to recurring wax build-up, following the pack directions.
If your child uses a hearing aid, remove it before use and wait at least 15 minutes before putting it back in.
Do not use at the same time as other ear drops unless a clinician has advised it.
How to store
- Store below 25°C
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children
- Do not use if the seal was broken before first use
- Use within 30 days of opening
- Do not use after the expiry date on the pack
Side effects
Common, mild effects can include:
- Bubbling or fizzing in the ear
- Mild itching
- Slight discomfort
- Temporary feeling of fullness
- Mild dizziness that usually settles quickly
Stop using and seek medical advice if you get:
- Severe pain
- Burning that does not settle
- Swelling, discharge, or bleeding
- Symptoms that persist or get worse
